So. Last night, when I went off to Tribeca for the Gloryhound & the Skyhawks show, I was not by myself. No, I didn't have my brother with me, or in fact anyone else human. Rather, I was accompanied by an escort of nine cats.
Not real cats, obviously. (Although imagine them all lined up on the bar, with their tails wrapped around their toes!) In fact, I was wearing the cat sweater I referred to in a previous post, because there are a couple of knitters among the usual suspects and I thought they might find the sweater funny. Mission accomplished. Although I think we can agree that my mother had to have a lot of skill to create something that silly!
Also, I was not the only person making a fashion statement last night, as both Dave and Jeremy were doing the Western-shirt thing, only Jeremy had embraced the whole vibe to the extent that the Divorcees might have been pleased to see him. I didn't think to ask him whether he has a stand on all that sissy-boy country...
Like Tuesday, this was another night that started a little slowly and ended up with a pretty good crowd. In fact, by the end of the night things were pretty lively over where I was sitting and a few former Tuesday regulars I hadn't seen in a while reappeared. I mean, they may very well have been around, but I missed them up until this point.
There was also one minor technical glitch which is discussed in the set list and I am only mentioning it because this entry is late due to the fact that I spent the entire morning wrestling with technical glitches in a software system intended for "virtual reference," to the point where I started thinking it would be more efficient, if someone wanted to ask me a question, for me to write down my answer and send it back via the Pony Express. Because I have a pony.
Ahem. I am probably more in sympathy for the glitch today than I was last night is all I'm saying. Although I will concede the one last night was handled more efficiently than mine was today.

Unexpected But Short Break While Shaun Sorted Things Out
Set 2(a)
(Kathy referred to this one as "the appendix to set 2," which is proof that you can't work in a library without at least some of the rot setting in. It consisted of:)

Just Like Tom Thumb's Blues (Dylan, same lineup as above)

At which point most folks didn't look all that eager to leave, but I figured my nine cats and I had had sufficient fun for one evening, so we came along home.
