We spoke of Tudor history last week and [info]carmine_rose pointed out a biography that looked interesting. I got hold of it through document delivery this week, and here is a nice meaty review. Sounds like, if you're interested in Anne, this is one you have to read.

Done!

Oooh, thanks! I've found a copy on ebay, so I'm going to get that, I think. If it's not in the uni library - I was there this afternoon, so I should have checked!

Have you started reading it yet?

I started the introduction last night before I set out for Dartmouth, and just that made me think it's the book for us. The 2004 edition is the one I have, but it's an update of the 1980s original which was "the" biography of Anne up to that point.

In other news, over the weekend I determined that the Tudors are much more interesting to me than vampires (more on that later) so after I finished with Richard III, I'll read this. Hurray for term loans for faculty and librarians!!

Huh - we have it, but only on overnight loan, which means I won't be able to request it on interlibrary loan. Looks like I'm buying it from ebay!

I shall. I really want to find a good lj community to talk about books, as well - any recommendations?

I haven't got a rec now, but I'll look around my f'list and see if anyone belongs to a discussion community that looks promising!

Great! That can be three of us discussing it, at least! I'll have to hurry and start it!

Heh - if I can trace a copy I'll join you. I love Anne.
