It took me a little longer than usual to get downtown last night: when I got within range of the Metro Centre the streets were suddenly full of people in hockey jerseys, which is when I remembered the IIHF World Hockey Championships are in town, and Team Canada was playing the Americans yesterday evening. Since nobody tried to thrown themselves under my Honda, I assumed the game had gone well.
I got to Tribeca just before the set started and Mike the bass player was telling Scotty a story that appeared to have something to do with Latvian hockey fans in a bar. So I asked whether the story happened at the Seahorse, since this week it seems like every night at the Seahorse is Latvian Night. Nope, it was the Alehouse, which makes me think the Latvians are everywhere this week. Fortunately they seem to be very goodnatured. I hope their team is doing well.
The band was pretty much back to its regular configuration this week, except that Shaun was present on drums instead of Brian. Other than that Jason and Adam alternated vocals and played guitar, Rob played keys, and Mike was on bass.

Serge Samson and another musician I don't know came in as the second set was beginning, but the boys were unsuccessful in luring them onstage--at least while I was there. However, you never know what next week will bring.
Also, Scotty mentioned that his other project, True Love Rules with Paul and Dave Marsh from the Joel Plaskett Emergency (okay, I guess that's technically Dave's other project, with Paul and Scotty) is playing a few songs on Thursday with Gloryhound. Which sounds like fun, so we'll see you there!
