Bandage on my lower back

Nope, not an injury.

And I didn't get a tattoo.

Yesterday, just before I left physio, the physiotherapist put a big tape "X" on my lower back, so whenever I tried to slouch the tape would tug and remind me to straighten up. Worked so well that I put a large Band-Aid on this morning to serve the same purpose. There is more give to a Band-Aid, but it seems to be working.

Also, I have duct tape if need be.

Anyway, I've had a few bad days and am still in the "be careful" stage, so I've reconsidered my decision to start riding again for now. But correct posture? Is in fact a good thing.

Bless your heart . . . (and not in the ironic sense)
Sorry about your continuing struggle with the sciatica and such! I had terrible, burning sciatica pain a few years ago when I lost a bunch of weight fairly fast . . . I couldn't lie down in bed on my stomach or on my back (flat) or it would trigger the pain down one leg or the other. The diet doctor (I was on a monitored Medifast thing at the time, which worked well, but slowed my metabolism even MORE) said that the nerve was having to re-settle as the fat deposits moved, and that there wasn't anything we could do about it. Whee! I got used to sleeping on my side. That didn't entirely cure the problem, though, because eventually the "bottom" side would start to burn. Standing up helped a lot, but you can't sleep standing up . . .unless you're a politician. *grin*

I'm happy to hear that physical therapy has taken this kind of stuff on. I really need to do more about my knee, as it gets stiffened up when we have damp weather. We've had nothing but rain for weeks, it seems (and a lot of wind and wind damage, though not right around HERE). It's supposed to be dry through the weekend. And the "Wildflower" festival is on!

It never fails to amuse me (because I am wicked) that the bands we get for Richardson "Wildflower" are often the ones that used to pack the arenas. "Blue Oyster Cult" is the shocker this year. We also have Pat Benatar, Point Blank (I always liked them), and a bunch of others. Then on Sunday we go Texas country with Jerry Jeff Walker and Ray Wylie Hubbard. At last, I'll get to hear "Up Against The Wall, Redneck Mother" live!! *GRIN*

Ow! My sympathies back at you, and thanks.

Although the Wildflower festival sounds like a wonderful time! Have fun!

Wow, that sounds like a good idea! I'll need to try that sometime, because I have horrible posture.

A friend who does yoga recommended tying a string around your waist, just tight enough that when you slouched it would dig in a tiny bit and remind you. I may try that one, too.
